Polaris Peru Coffee
Origin Story
Polaris Peru Coffee is a smooth, balanced medium roast cultivated high in the Amazonian Andes of northern Peru. Its gentle acidity and rounded body carry bright notes of lemon and herbs into a comforting chocolate finish, creating a cup that feels both lively and grounded.
The coffee comes from the Asociación de Productores Cafetaleros Juan Marco El Palto, also known as JUMARP or El Palto. The cooperative began with only 35 small farmers in 2003 and has since grown to 189 members. Today, approximately 550 hectares are dedicated to organic and Fair Trade Certified coffee production.
Women play a meaningful role within the cooperative. Forty of El Palto’s members are women, and female producers are represented alongside their male counterparts on the cooperative’s Board of Directors. Together, members work to improve specialty-coffee production, strengthen profitability, and increase income for their families.
Grown between 1,600 and 1,800 meters and carefully washed after harvest, these Typica, Castillo, Bourbon, and Catimor beans produce a clean and polished cup. Like Polaris, the guiding star, this coffee reflects steady purpose, collective progress, and a clear path forward.
