Origin Story

Scorpius is the perfect combination of regular and decaf coffee. This aromatic blend is rich and delicious with half the caffeine. Peruvian coffee is often described as presenting a vanilla-nut sweetness to nutty chocolate flavor with hints of citrus. Columbian coffee, known for its sweetness, is often described as creamy with a sweet-honeyed citrus aftertaste. What a lovely flavor fusion!

Half of the beans go through a washed process, and the other half, an Ethyl Acetate (E.A.) process, to remove caffeine from the beans. The beans are water soaked to extract caffeine and other soluble compounds. The mixture is combined with E.A., a naturally occurring solvent found in fruits, which dissolves the caffeine. The caffeine is then separated from the solution as the E.A. evaporates, leaving only decaffeinated coffee.

We recommend Scorpius if you may not want as big a jolt or if you like coffee with dessert after dinner.
